The Silver Line, at Your Door

  • Farragut West — approximately 38 to 42 minutes
  • Federal Triangle / Smithsonian — approximately 40 to 45 minutes
  • L’Enfant Plaza — approximately 45 minutes

East of Rosslyn, the Silver Line shares track with the broader Metro
system, continuing seamlessly through the central business district.

To Dulles International Airport:

  • Direct ride — approximately 15 to 20 minutes
  • No transfers required.

To Reagan National Airport:

  • Transfer typically at Rosslyn to the Blue Line
  • Approximately 50 to 65 minutes total travel time depending on wait times

To Reston & Loudoun County:

  • Reston Town Center — approximately 10 to 15 minutes
  • Herndon / Innovation Center — approximately 15 to 20 minutes
  • Ashburn — approximately 20 to 25 minutes
How It Works Day to Day

During peak weekday hours, Silver Line trains typically run every 6 to 8 minutes. Midday and evening service generally operates every 10 to 15 minutes, with late-night and weekend intervals closer to 15 to 20 minutes.

Spring Hill is an elevated, open-air station with escalators and elevators providing full access to the platform. Morning eastbound trains toward DC are typically busier during standard commuter hours, while westbound trains remain less crowded during that period. Service remains steady throughout the day, making Metro a practical option not only for work commutes but also for evenings downtown or airport trips.
